Premium endless top-down action
Beef Cat Ultra brings back the ultimate Game Boy nostalgia with its top-down 8-bit style that features hand-made stages across several game styles. Developed by Beef Cat, this jack of all trades of a game features more than seven game modes, several distinctive maps to play from, and six playable characters.
Beef Cat Ultra is a lot of action genres in one, combining top down-shooter with a daring hack-and-slash to a chaotic bullet hell. Watch all this unravel as you navigate the game's steep learning curve and the addictive gameplay of this all-arounder.
Smooth mechanics with addicting gameplay loop
Beef Cat Ultra masterfully integrates all these action titles into one, using its 8-bit style as a charming way to focus players on its intense gameplay and mastery of handling multiple genres at once. Whether you like to go all guns blazing or find rare items in the world, this game allows it, taking player expression into its overall theme while juggling its multiple games all at once.
This chaotic game enters you into the Beeflandia gauntlet, exploring linear stages and destroying spawners to attain better scores. Participate in the Collectathon as you explore each stage and focus on all the shiny items. Horde mode packs you and a tight arena with regular upgrades to defeat enemies. Boss stages put you up against a tough opponent in a small arena with a limited arsenal.
Volleyball and Deathmatch modes also pit you against AI or another player in tight competitive arenas. The retro map features a loose order of selecting game modes. You’ll find new characters and interactions that help you progress further, unlocking permanent stat boosts, shortcuts, and more. However, the game lacks true multiplayer, as opponents are only available in local co-op. Additionally, the enemy sprites can be overwhelming the longer you survive.
Combines multiple genres
Beef Cat Ultra delivers a nostalgic, fast-paced action experience, combining multiple genres like top-down shooter, hack-and-slash, and bullet hell into one thrilling package. Its charming 8-bit style and smooth mechanics make it highly addictive, with unique modes to explore. However, while it excels at providing varied gameplay, the lack of online multiplayer and overwhelming enemy sprites during longer sessions may hinder its appeal for some players.
